• Health Equity Committee – Call for Content Experts

  • The ASMBS Health Equity Committee is nearing completion of a long-awaited project that will provide meaningful value to ASMBS members: an online educational program, Culturally Competent Care for Persons with Obesity. This program is designed to support healthcare professionals in delivering more inclusive, respectful, and equitable obesity care by exploring cultural humility and cultural competency, weight stigma and bias, care considerations across diverse racial, ethnic, sexual, gender, faith, and cultural identities, and the impact of social determinants of health on treatment and outcomes.

As the committee finalizes this important program, we are seeking ASMBS members with subject-matter expertise to contribute valuable content in select topic areas. The topics are listed below. If you are able to assist, please complete this form. The committee will review your response and contact you soon if your expertise aligns with the program’s needs.

You do have the ability to save the form and return if needed.

Contact Nicola Field, Senior Manager, Governance & Committee Operations if you have any questions: nicola@asmbs.org.
